He Got Him a Deer!

My wonderful husband has been on vacation this week and has spent a majority of it in the deer stand. This morning while dressing wounds, starting IV's and cleaning poop I got the wonderful news that he shot a buck.. so naturally I had to go fetch my camera and head to the woods for some photos. I am always looking for something to blog about. The funniest part of this hunt is that Zach was attempting to shoot a deer over his right shoulder that was trying to enjoy a morning graze with his girlfriend. Well,five shots later the deer was finally down. First he blew his stomach, two shots in the air as the deer ran away, a shot to break his leg and eventually the shot that took his life. I am sorry but deer hunting is anything but glamorous!

I am excited that Zach has something to show for all his time in the stand....do you think he might be done for the season? Wishful thinking.

Operation Christmas Child

Just in the nick of time I got the last boxes to the drop off location. It has been quite the experience. Mom and I have been collecting boxes for a week. When you collect them you must wrap them and get them organized. It has been a very fun experience and rewarding too! The hardest part of this task was picking out the wrapping paper! We chose the perfect one though. What a bright and jolly St. Nick!

All I can say is THANK YOU to my amazing family and friends. We collected 40 boxes from Mississippi, Tennessee





and Texas...







Madyson Schmidt is so sweet..sharing with others. We just love her!

When Zach and I went to drop off all the boxes we had a few questions for the ladies working the location. Each of these boxes will go to a center in North Carolina and will be sorted to go to more than 100 different countries. Once the reach the assigned country they will then be delivered by whatever means possible...Llama, camel, boat, horse, donkey and very rarely car! Isn't it crazy to think that your shoebox might be on a camels back....I hope mine gets to go on a journey with a Llama!

I just happened to stop by Oxford drop off location this morning as they were loading all the boxes up for North Carolina and they had the final count of 4622!! A ton of boxes to create a ton of smiles!

For those of you that put your address in the box : If you hear from the child please let me know! I would love to share it on the blog!

I never dreamed that we would have 40 boxes to turn in. I think that this was a great way to remember my Dad and his love for Christmas and Children. So Thanks again for the wonderful success in Operation Christmas Child 2008!

Who said Tiger Bait?

Zach and I have made it back from Baton Rouge and we are happy campers!

We had so much fun with our friends Moose and Lauren! The night we arrived, we ate at a very authentic place called Parrain's. We had some great fresh seafood and I had alligator! As picky as I am, I like alligator. After staying awake for more than 24 hours I went straight to bed after dinner to get prepared for game day!

Zach and Moose talked about a little place called Louie's from the time we left Jackson, Ms. So we had to eat there first thing on Saturday morning. After Zach woke all of us up at 8:00, we headed out. This place is anything but nice and healthy! To say the least my breakfast was huge chunks of potato with cheese, sour cream and mushrooms....yummy! I bet you want to go! So after a few hours of feeling sick it was time to go cheer on the Rebels!

Walking through what they consider to be tailgating I was really mad. I have never in my life seen or heard such rude things from an opposing team! It was not only the young, drunk college kids but the old ladies...like my grandmothers age! Simply Amazing!

The game was amazing....we had a ton of fans there and we never, ever trailed in the game. The weather was perfect. You could say I had Jesus on my shoulder. If you have not been there, Death Valley is really big...The wonderful ticket we had was at the VERY TIPPY TOP...one more row and I would have been in the parking lot. We could hardly see the ball, never read the players numbers, but we could see the movement! Who really cares, we won. We survived Death Valley. The Tigers are now Rebel bait. LS WHO?

GO TO HELL LSU!

Oh, one more minor detail...I didn't have my camera SD card, so not one picture on my side of the day. I will get some from friends. So thanks Kristen for the pictures!

Flim. Flam. Bim. Bam....

Zach and I leave for Baton Rouge tomorrow to cheer on no other team than our REBELS! LSU and Ole Miss have a long history and this year we actually stand somewhat of a chance..Just know if you hear the score on Saturday one of two things is going on.
a. The Rebels are leading, I am freaking out.
b. The Rebels are losing, Zach is not talking!
That is how it goes in the King household.

So keep your fingers crossed Rebel fans... and all you other "Team Rooters"...


HOTTY TODDY!

The Most PERFECT Wedding..

I finally got the chance to see my wedding video and I must admit...it is pretty phenom!! I watched every minute from the moment pictures started till we drifted away in the breeze and by that I mean 3 hours of video. It was like being there all over again. If I had the chance I would relive that night over and over again! It is amazing how 6 months later I can watch the video and still cry, laugh, dance and smile at the very same moments I did that night.
If I had the chance to change one thing about my wedding, I wouldn't change anything! I had the most beautiful day a girl can dream of, the best bridesmaids of all time- pretty, fun and loving, the most amazing husband who is extremely good-looking too, a super fly band, shrimp and grits, a partying mom, the sweetest kiddos with moves, a bright and colorful reception, Sonic strawberry limeaids, and my Helicopter. HELLO.....That is a nutshell is INCREDIBLY AMAZING!

Kick the ball THAT WAY Addison...

I was checking my email one day and I get a special message from Addison. She just really wanted her "E" to come watch her play soccer. So weeks ago I commited to Nov 8, 2008 at 2:30. Let me just tell you I was the first one there. I could not wait to see my sweet girl play. I have to say watching 4 year old soccer is something else. I don't think I will be volunteering to coach 4 year olds in my future! They had six kids and they all did as they please...occasionally what they were suppose to. I am very jealous at how far girls soccer has come. I am pretty sure the only cool soccer ball I could ever find was black and lime green. Addison's was non other than PINK. I know that my soccer shoes were solid black and she sported the black and PINK shoes. Oh, wait she also told me they were "puple too e"! I guess these days you definatly cannot take the girl out of a girl....Pink soccer ball, pink shoes, and hoop earrings..Go figure.


When I got to the game I made Addison promise to me that she would score a goal for me. I wasn't going to be to upset if this did not happen because it had not happened all year. While on her break and cuddled up in my lap we began to discuss the team mascots. I forgot what her mascot was but by the end of the conversation she had determined the other team was going to win because they were the "Shaks..aka Sharks" and shaks bite! Oh how cute kids are. So anyway, in the last 1 minute of the game during an intense 4 year old dribble while parents and grandparents were yelling "NO, run that way Addison" and dramatically pointing to the left, the sweet girl kicked it with all her might scoring a HUGE goal to win the game!! I wish I was warm when this happened and had my camera. She would have gotten in trouble in college football because she did some sort of celebration that was not very sportsman-like. It involved jumping up and down yelling I SCORE I SCORE!

A new twist

So, I started out blogging a couple of years ago and I failed miserably.

Now that I am married to the love of my life and living on my own I figured that it might work this time. Here in the King household we have lots of fun and exciting things going on. You know I live the life of Cinderella, right? Cook and clean, iron and cook, clean and work, sleep and cook, and then all over again. That has got to be exciting to EVERYONE! Ha, who am I kidding?

Seriously, I know that Zach and I can keep each and everyone of you informed and maybe entertained occasionally.

I have several reasons for starting this blog again.
1. I am highly entertained in reading my friends blogs.
2. One day, I might have a little one I need to blog about and I need to practice now.
3. In the big metropolis of Oxford, Ms, I can, shockingly enough, get bored.

Well, wish me luck and we will see how this goes.
