A nice little tip...

I never realized that a wet dishcloth can be a one size fits all lid to cover a fire in a pan! This is a dramatic video(30-second, very short) about how to deal with a common kitchen fire...Oil in a frying pan. Read the following introduction, then watch the show... It's a real eye-opener!! At the Fire Fighting Training school they would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An instructor would don a fire suit and using an 8 oz. cup at the end of a 10 foot pole, toss water onto the grease fire. The results got the attention of the students. The water, being heavier than oil, sinks to the bottom where it instantly becomes heated. The explosive force of the steam blows the burning oil up and out. On the open field, it became a thirty foot high fireball that resembled a nuclear blast. Inside the confines of a kitchen, the fire ball hits the ceiling and fills the entire room. Also, do not throw sugar or flour on a grease fire. One cup creates the explosive force of two sticks of dynamite. This is a powerful message----watch the video and don't forget what you see.

I love a good pedicure...

But, I am not really sure about this technique...

Its called "A Fish Pedicure". Imagine you and a few of your close friends sitting around enjoying conversation all while tiny fish nibble away at your toes. Apparently they are using this method to eliminate the use of blades and the risk of infection. It might take a little while for me to buy into that.

For all of you in Florida, they just "outlawed" this luxurious spa treatment recently.

If you are like me and dying to know more.... http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2008-07-24-pedicures_n.htm

Bunko!

Does this mean its official, I am all grown up? YIKES!

Every first Tuesday of the month, I get together with a group of 12 girls and play the ever famous bunko game. I think it is so much fun. It is nice to be welcomed into the "local" groups and meet new friends.

This past Tuesday, I got to host bunko at my house and we had so much fun! Mom was in town and got to sub for a missing player so she even joined in on the excitement.

The picture above is the dice cheeseball I made...because yes, I am that dork!

Is Your Marriage Fireproofed?

Last night Zach and I watched the movie 'Fireproof'. I realize this might be a shock to you since most of you know that is not my idea of fun. I really dislike watching movies. Zach decided he wanted to rent a movie or two and came home with 4. One of which was 'Fireproof'.

This movie is from the creators of 'Facing the Giants' and is intended to be an inspirational movie. I had heard from a friend that it was pretty amazing and she really made me want to see it. So in the wee hours of the morning we started the movie. I must say that it was pretty incredible. The acting is slacking a tad but it really kept my interest. In a nut shell, this movie follows the troubling days of a failing marriage. A hero to the community and his fire station, Caleb is anything but a hero to his wife. After facing the reality that a marriage is nothing without a strong faith, a few lessons are learned.

YOU MUST WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP- troubled or not. This movie will open your eyes to a few things needed in marriage that everyone will struggle with at some point in time. You will be reminded to never leave your partner behind.

Get ready to tear up and smile all in the same hour. I wont lie and say there were dry eyes in the King household.

If you like this movie as much as we did, you might want to check out "The Love Dare". http://thelovedarebook.com/index.html
