Ugh, I fell behind.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks around the King household.

I know all of you are sitting on the edge of your seat screaming, "is it done yet"! Well yes, it is done and it looks WONDERFUL! I have the best husband a girl could ask for and a pretty amazing father-in-law. They seriously built this fence with no experience and no guidance. It is the best built fence in the hood. All the neighbors are asking Zach to build a fence now! :) Money, Money, Money....

I love sitting on my porch doing whatever I please and everyone that drives by can't see what I am doing. I must admit, it does put a damper on my nosiness. I have already figured out I can stand on the chair to see over the fence.

While we are discussing fences, why the heck does the lumberyard put a stamp on every single piece of wood? One side is bound to be pretty tacky. Don't worry I have already been scrubbing with a brush trying to get it off...All I can say is SUN PLEASE SHINE THIS MESS OFF.

The next couple of weeks we have a house full of visitors. We love company! Our first visitor this spring was Zach's VP at fastenal. It was nice getting to meet him, I have heard alllllll about him! Up next, we have Lauren, Moose and Smitty coming this weekend for Double Decker! I am sure I will have lots to post about this!

I promise to keep you updated on our lives a tad bit more.

Hoppy Easter!

Are you like me today and wishing that you were getting to wake up to a basket filled with goodies and getting the chance to hunt eggs...all day long?

I loved Easter as a kid. It was a great time for fun with the family. Our Sunday morning started off with searching for our Easter baskets the bunny would always hide, rushing around to get ready for Church in that new colorful Sunday dress and then finally at home for good food and tons of egg hunting!

I was shopping around trying to get a few Easter goodies for my sweet girls and I started comparing our old eggs to the new and improved. Back in the day, you were lucky if you could get the egg to stay shut and prevent all the candy from falling out in the grass....Today, the eggs are super tightly closed and they are even different types. You can buy butterfly eggs, sport eggs, fish eggs and even Noah's Ark eggs...See you local Wal-mart for these!

Early church for the Kings this morning and then back to continue building the fence. If it were not for the rain we would be done! Finished the day by having dinner with Mom! :)

Fence Update:

Everything was working out perfectly...

Its a perfect day in Oxford, Ms for building a fence. Zach and his dad are both in great moods and really getting this job done. After measuring every space, precisely cutting the boards and nailing them into place it was finally time to move onto the placement of the "long boards", the ones that actually make the fence.

It is quickly approaching lunch so I run out to get a bite to eat. As I arrive back home I realize that they really haven't made it far since I left and they are both shaking their heads. This is never a good sign my friend! I ask what is going on and Jimmie quickly replies, "YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW". Zach makes a sly little remark that the "measurer" aka Jimmie messed up. I just fell out laughing...how can you help not to? So very typical. They are back on track now and things are looking good..

That darned Pine Tree

If you have been around me much you know my dislike for pine trees. I don't know what it is about them but they are just not for me. I told Zach that we will never ever plant one in our yard intentionally. I just don't get it, they are not attractive for the most part, they don't produce this amazing colorful bloom and they don't provide any fruit. So why in the world would you plant one?

My Mom sent me an email several years ago that discussed the pine tree around Easter time. The little brown things that you see on every pine tree eventually, around Easter grows and forms a Cross. I don't know much but that is pretty cool. This is one of those random bits of info that comes in goes in my little mind.

While working four long days last week, I happened to glance out the window from the 5th floor. Low and behold I saw the crosses...forming before my little eyes. I was so excited that I actually remembered that! I looked down at my patient and looked at the crosses and looked back at my patient. Of course by this time he was kinda like "what is this crazy girl doing"! I explained to him and he raised up, very short of breath and said something along the lines of "well, i'll be. That's really something". He continued to smile but had more things to worry about such as breathing. I was almost kicking myself for pointing that out because he was so short of breath now. We had to do our controlled breathing and o2 sat check and all of that craziness just to see the crosses at the top of a pine tree. At that time his reaction really wasn't that important to me. I shared my random info with him and we both smiled. I went to the next room and shared the same fact with my next patient. Some were more into it than others. Some forgot and some shared with the visitors they had through out the day. I consider this a small blessing... A couple days later I had my same group of patients. That same "well i'll be" sweet man had a rough day and by the end of my shift the Lord called him home. With all the shock and sadness aside, I look back on that short conversation and smile. He was just as thankful for those simple pine tree crosses as I am today. He really appreciated my random fact and let me know that he knew all about God and there was no question in his mind who was in control. I might think of him every time I see one of those crosses!

Today, I was sitting around kinda bored. Next thing I knew I was grabbing my camera up and driving around Oxford trying to find a really good cross on top of the pine tree. About 4o miles later I found some decent ones. See, the problem is, the really good big crosses are at the very top of the big trees and they are kinda difficult to capture.

This is the bud that actually forms the cross. It is pretty neat looking.

I think I have found a reason to like a Pine Tree..

Its a Rebel

Which, is only fitting!! As most of you know from my previous post, My mom and Zach bought me a foot "massager" for my birthday. Well after exchanging it three times, it really was not a good product. I was unable to find another brand that was comparable. So, in the end I got a Canon Rebel camera and I am v-excited!!

You can expect some big things...

A fence, a fence for privacy...

Zach and his Dad worked really hard yesterday building our fence. We are so excited that we will now have some privacy and no longer have our whole life exposed to all Windsor Falls residents. I will keep you updated as this work progresses....

Josh and Lisa are only hours away from welcoming baby girl #2!

So far everything is moving along just as planned and the precious little babe should be here by afternoon!

Keep them in your prayers today and pray specifically for a safe delivery.

I can hardly wait. I was trying to sleep in today so the process would go by fast for me. To say the least, I was talking to Lisa on the phone at 6 am today! When Madyson was born I was taking my huge gross anatomy comps with the cadavers...so at least I am just cleaning around my house today. :)
