Granny King

Yesterday, May 17, 2009, Granny went to be with her Lord. She was a cute little lady with lots of spunk. She had a way to make everyone smile and she will be missed. She died after she celebrated her 91st birthday on May 14th. Keep Zach's family in your prayers as they go through the next few days.

The anniversary celebration has been postponed....will keep you updated!

Happy Mothers Day!

Wow, I can't believe it has almost been a week since Mother's Day and I am just now getting to this post....

For Mother's Day, I went to Memphis to spend a whirlwind of a Day with the best Mom...EVER!
We started by opening a gift or two and then running around town to find a place to eat. After driving around for about 15 minutes and one stop for a 3 hour wait we found ourselves driving back up and down Germantown Road. Our search ended at Colletas. I find myself not planning ahead when I need to but planning to much when it is not needed. I don't really regret this restaurant hunt...because needless to say this is what we do best as Mother-daughter...roam around with no plan!

We had a great lunch and then got to visit with my grandparents and great aunt Mary.
Here are some photos to sum up the day!

A quick trip to Memphis...

Yesterday I made a whirlwind trip to Memphis to help out with my girls, Madyson and Maya.

I don't need to go into details about my camera because my blood pressure might reach damaging levels. Lets just say, I had two cameras and one memory card that is so small it held two pictures.

This is what I came away with.

These are the sweetest little angels ever...love love them!

I am Oh so Random..

If you know my track record then you are well aware that I have wanted some pretty random things in my life.

Lets just talk about the cash register. Are you aware that I asked for a cash register for about 5 Christmas in a row. Yeah, I did. I don't know why. It seemed really cool. I could pretend that I had my own store and charge people for everything. I finally got it the first Christmas I did not ask for it. I distinctly remember my Dad saying, "the day I buy you a cash register is the day you need to check me into Lakeside". Someone along the way actually bought me the carbon copy pads that you write orders on. I had a the best time with that. Don't worry I don't pull out my cash register very often. Only on a good garage sell day.

So, on to the point.....

Toni felt the need to buy me a thank you gift for helping with Double Decker. You see, her parents have a radio scanner and I think it is the most entertaining thing. Where else can you sit in the comfort of your own home and know all the scoop. dui here, assault there, burglary now, speeding later....ahhh, I love it!! Now I have been blessed with this luxury. Thanks Toni.

I gotta run, I am busy facebooking these college kids that are getting DUI's....hahahahahha

p.s. isnt the wrapping perfect!

What a suprise!

Years ago, I use to work at the Airport for my parents friend Jim. Most of you know him or at least of him. So you completely understand the fact that when he put his mind to something or anything he would some how get it. Same story different product...MalloCups.

One day at work, we were talking about candy. Jim went into this elaborate story about Mallo Cups and how they were a great candy from years ago. He promised he would bring one to work for me. Days went by and I still had not tasted one. He had me calling every store in town that might have them. I had no clue what he was even talking about. Finally, in a few weeks we had a Costco size box of them straight from California or somewhere like that.

They were pretty dang good and they didn't last long around the office. The only bad part was there would be no more Mallo Cups unless I stumbled upon them randomly.

After leaving clinical one afternoon, I was headed straight for oxford and was so sleepy. I pulled off at a gas station to get a Dr. Pepper and some chocolate. You will never believe what I found.....yep, a Mallo Cup. I died laughing to myself. Only if we had come 30 miles down 55.

Well, about 2 weeks ago, I was at work craving some chocolate. I made a mad dash to the vending machine and guess what was stocked.....yep, a mallo cup!

Last night, Zach and I ran into Kroger for a few things. I saw a HUGE display of....yep, Mallo Cup! I immediately ran over and got my hands on a few packages. Zach did not even ask, he has heard the story. We were not in the car with the doors closed good when he was busting into them. He thinks they are pretty tasty too..

Double Decker 2009

Double Decker is an Oxford event that is always tons of fun. This year I got to experience another part of the festival. My friend, Toni was granted a place this year to sell her photography. It was a great success and we had so much fun. To check out Toni's work, visit her website http://www.photographyofoxford.com/.

After the DD, I went to catch up with Zach, Moose and Lauren at the Baseball game. This weekend Ole Miss hosted Georgia who "was" ranked #1. After a wonderful game, so I heard, the Rebels ended the night with the W. Hotty Toddy!

I have earned an Angel

Well, this past week at work was a whopper! I had two very intense days with all sorts of patients. I am here to tell you about one. It is always hard to lose a loved one but I think it is the hardest to sit at the bedside never knowing when that life changing moment might happen. I have a sweet sweet family that is living this nightmare right now. The have a loved one who has had a massive stroke and they are living one minute at a time. It is emotionally intense in this room and I have just tried to comfort them anyway possible. Friday afternoon the daughter-in-law gave me a little bag with an Nurse Guardian Angel pin in it. I was thrilled because this is the first for me and also it is always nice to have a family recognize you for going a little over the call.
So here is my first earned Angel.
